Shweta Pandit is a playback singer in Bollywood and also a lyricist and actor. Other than Hindi she has also recorded songs in Telugu and in Tamil.
Though she dubbed for the award-winning film “Anjali” in 1990 when she was five years old, it was with Aditya Chopra’s “Mohabbatein” (2000) that she entered Bollywood. She sang five out of twelve songs in the movie.
Hit songs to her credit include “Charha De Rang” (“Yamla Pagla Deewana”, 2010), “Jhini Jhini” (“Sarkar Raj”, 2008), “You’re My Love” (“Partner”, 2007) and “Kiya Kiya” (“Welcome”, 2007). Sajid-Wajid, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja are just a few of the music directors she has worked with.

She hails from a family of musical exponents like Mewati Gharana’s Pandit Motiram (her great grandfather), Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jasraj (her grand uncle), his elder brother Pandit Pradeep Narayan, music director duo Jatin-Lalit (her uncles), playback singer Sulakshana Pandit (her aunt) and tabla player Vishwaraj Pandit (her father) and her siblings Yash and Shraddha are also actor and playback singer respectively.
She has won the Filmfare Award for the Best Female Playback Singer (Telugu) for the popular number “Nenani Neevani” in the film “Kotha Bangaru Lokam” (2008).
