Pandit Narendra Sharma was well known as a poet, writer and lyricist in Hindi films. A postgraduate in English Literature from Allahabad University, he published a newspaper called “Abyudhay”. He is best known for writing the lyrics of the title song of the 1979 movie “Satyam Shivam Sundaram”. This song won him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Lyricist.
